Michelle Gisin suffered wrist, knee and back injuries in December which ruled her out of the 2026 Olympics

Paris (France) (AFP) - Former two-time Olympic combined champion Michelle Gisin announced on Tuesday that she has retired, 11 months on from a serious training crash.

Gisin, who pipped Mikaela Shiffrin to gold in 2018 before defending her title four years later, has not raced competitively since a fall in Switzerland last December.

The Swiss 32-year-old suffered wrist, knee and back injuries which ruled her out of the 2026 Games in Milan-Cortina.

“It has been an incredible ride, this ends today,” Gisin said on Instagram. “I saw it all,” she added.
